Virtual Simulation in Clinical Nursing Education to Improve Knowledge and Clinical Skills: Literature Review

BACKGROUND: Nursing as a professional education must have solid foundation to encourage nursing professionals’ attitude, behavior, and ability carry out the practice. AIM: This study aims review effectiveness of virtual simulations (vSIMs) in clinical increasing knowledge skills new nurses students. METHODS: A literature using PRISMA method from online database Science Direct, Scopus, PubMed with keywords vSIM, education, knowledge, 2016 2020. RESULTS: It was found that 162 articles were found. Then, 25 can be reviewed based on inclusion exclusion criteria. The used quasi-experimental design. While form pilot projects, literature/systematic reviews, qualitative, descriptive studies excluded study. Based articles, it that, average, they discussed vSIMs learning process hospitals. applied CONCLUSION: Virtual simulation is useful for skills; practicing combine content, critical thinking, psychomotor elements; competencies, make decisions.
